Sheryl (Ann) Frank was born June 21, 1960 and passed away April 21, 2024 at Centerpoint Medical Center, Independence, Missouri. Sheryl was proceeded in death by her Mother Shirley Brokaw, her Father Harold Frank Sr. her brother Harold Frank Jr. & Step Father Harold Brokaw. 

Sheryl is survived by 4 siblings. Brother Jerry Brokaw (wife Shirlene) Brother Warren Brokaw (Wife Kathy) Sister Linda King (Husband Gene) Sister Cheryl Swartz (Husband Sam) along with many nieces and nephews.

Sheryl worked for Kansas City association For the Blind / Alphapointe for more than 20 years. She held various positions while there. She learned sign language to be able to communicate while working with the deaf clients. She also worked as an executive assistant. She was involved in many organizations throughout her life. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge in Independence and participated in multiple functions and events that were taking place. Sheryl loved bowling and she was part of several bowling leagues and received several awards for how well she bowled. Sheryl served as President at her townhouse complex for several years. 

She also served on citizens with disabilities advisory board for the city of Independence. One of many important things that Sheryl fought for, was to make sure that public transportation for all citizens remained operating as it had in the past with no cuts in service on bus routes. 

She loved all animals, she has owned a horse named Cheyenne and she absolutely loved her horse, she would ride her every chance that she had. She had multiple birds as well, from Parakeets to a parrot. She also has had a cat. 

Her true love was helping less fortunate dogs that needed her as much as she needed them. She volunteered at many  animal shelters to help walk the dogs to make sure that they all lived the best possible  life while at the shelter She was also very involved in getting dogs out of the shelter and helped finding forever homes for hundreds of dogs. She loved her own dogs so much. Casey, Holly and Angel. Angel & Holly are going to be with Sheryl as they move on to the next phase in their journey. You can be sure that Sheryl is smiling down on us and Angel & Holly are right by her side. 

 Besides Sheryl's love for animals and many other activities she still made time to stand up and fight with and for the blind and visually impaired. For 25 years Sheryl belonged to a national organization known as the American Council for the Blind. there she spent those years mentoring, from young people that were either born blind, or lost their sight or their parents that needed some guidance and raising a visually impaired child, to the elderly that lost their sight later in life. She would bring joy and happiness an direction to those people. Sheryl also spent several years on the state level of American Council of the Blind as the resolution and bylaws, chairman to oversee all new bylaws and resolutions to the organization. she also spent many years traveling to Jefferson City for legislation days to talk to congressman and senators to help and promote legislation that would better lives of blind and visually impaired people of Missouri. She also was the president of the local chapter of ACB in Kansas City known as Allied workers for the blind, where she served two terms as their president, as well as many other offices and spent many years mentoring and schooling people to become officers and go onto to be outstanding members of the American Council of the blind.

A Celebration of life for Sheryl will be held 6:00pm Wednesday May 01, 2024 at Westminster Hall of First Presbyterian Church, 417 W. Lexington Ave. Independence, MO  64050 The Reverend Jeff Fletcher officiating. Visitation will be 5:00-6:00pm prior to service
