Shirley A. Ramey

Shirley Ann Ramey, 81, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on July 29, 1943, to Shirley William Shinpaugh and Virginia Ann Shinpaugh, Shirley lived a life filled with love, learning, and devotion to family. She dedicated over 30 years as an educator with the Hickman Mills School District, touching the lives of countless students. After her teaching career, she continued to share her love for knowledge during her time at Johnson County Library.

Shirley was a woman of many passions. A talented seamstress, she found joy and creativity in sewing. A lifelong reader, books were her constant companions. She also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino and cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved son-in-law, Clint Weston Rolf.

Shirley is survived by her loving children, Timothy (Vikki) Ramey, and Jennifer (Clint) Rolf; her brother, William (Rogene) Shinpaugh; her niece, Erika Shinpaugh; grandchildren, Ashlan Burgess, Hannah Rolf, Weston Rolf, and Gavin Rolf; and great-grandchildren, Carson Burgess and Cooper Burgess.

A visitation to celebrate Shirley’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on July 24, 2025, at Park Lawn Funeral Home, 8251 Hillcrest Rd, Kansas City, MO 64138.

Shirley will be remembered for her generous heart, unwavering dedication to her family, and her deep love of learning. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
