Shirley Dene Van Deusen, daughter of Wilber Cecil Davis and Mary Delta Davis, was born on June 13, 1928, and passed away on February 3, 2026.
On October 8, 1948, she married Kenneth LaVaughn Van Deusen, a Church of Christ minister. Together they shared a life rooted in faith, service, and devotion to family. Shirley’s faith and beliefs were central to her life and guided the way she loved and served others. She especially loved singing gospel songs, which brought her joy and comfort and reflected her deep spiritual devotion.
Shirley spent 50 years as a school bus driver, faithfully serving her community and caring for generations of children. She was known for her dedication, kindness, and steady presence.
She was a loving mother to her sons, Kent and Erik, and her daughters, Vickie and Gina. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Susan, and her sons-in-law, Don and Larry.
She was a proud grandmother to Steve, Shawn, Chris, Brandy, Krissy, Kelly, Ryan, Sarah "Scout", Briana, Bryan, and Brandon; a cherished great-grandmother to Shawn Jr., Austin, Owen, Harper, Kellan, Everly, Wyatt, Fiona, Otis, and Josephine; and a great-great-grandmother to Sutton.
She is also survived by her sister, Carol Grittman, and four nieces.
Throughout her life, Shirley cherished her dogs—Siggy, Walter, Dakota, Jane, Rocco, and Theo—who were beloved companions and an important part of her family.
Shirley will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her love of family, and a life lived in quiet service to others. Her legacy of love and devotion lives on through the many lives she touched.
A gathering of friends and family will be Thursday, February 12, from 1 pm until the time of service at 2 pm. At Park Lawn Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest following the service in Memorial Park Cemetery.
