Steven D. Smith

Steven Douglas Smith, 68, of Liberty, MO, passed away August 10, 2020, at Liberty Hospital with his wife Carol at his side. Visitation will be held from 12-1:30 pm Thursday, August 13, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. A private graveside service will follow at Fairview/New Hope Cemetery.

Steve was born December 20, 1951, in Independence, MO, the son of Douglas and June (Edwards) Smith. He was a proud member of the Cherokee Nation. Steve worked as a relief lineman at the Ford Motor Company Claycomo plant for 25 years before retiring in 2012.

Along with his parents, Steve was preceded in death by a brother, Scott Smith. Survivors include his wife, Carol; children, Brian Smith, Mike Smith, Jesse Smith, Aaron King (Amy), Kimberly King (Brandon), Kristina Box (Chris) and Dylan King; ten grandchildren and a great grandson. He also leaves a sister, Lynda Perry (Bob) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 12-1:30 pm Thursday, August 13, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, I-35 at State Route 291, Liberty. A private graveside service will follow at Fairview/New Hope Cemetery.
