Steven Earl Smith

Steven Earl Smith, son of Earl and Grace Ann (Mosbough) Smith was born November 10, 1944 at St. John’s Hospital in Joplin Missouri. Steve went home to meet the Lord on Sunday December 7, 2025 peacefully at his home in Kansas City Missouri.

He graduated from Webb City High School with the class of 1962. In high school he lettered in basketball and enjoyed all sports. Steve then went to Pittsburg State College for 1yr before taking an apprenticeship opportunity specializing in Tool and Die Maker skilled trades, as a Machinist. This led him to the Ford Motor Company in Kansas City Missouri, where he became a Journeyman Machinist and retired December 31, 2002 after 37 years.

Steve was a jovial person who enjoyed spending time with his family, friends and was an avid hunter. He is forever remembered as a loving, caring person who never missed the opportunity to laugh. Steve and CarLeen Smith were Married October 1987, they shared much of their life on their farm in Maysville Missouri where they raised cattle, chickens, gardened and made food plots for the wildlife. Steve was Baptised in 2004 at the Maysville First Baptist Church and became a Deacon in 2006. Steve had a passion for the Lord and spent time spreading the gospel of Jesus and volunteering in Disaster Relief until 2017.

He is survived by wife CarLeen Smith of 37yrs, sister Terry Olrich (Ken) of Colorado, sons Craig Smith (Ginny)of Virginia Beach, VA., Scott Smith of Kansas City, MO., Mark Smith(Kamber) of Webb City, MO. Survivors also include his brother-inlaws Rodney and Daniel Furne, step children, and all grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
