Susan Elizabeth (Meier) Federoff, 56, of the Kansas City Northland, passed peacefully on May 31, 2023, at her home, following a two-year diagnosis with colon cancer. Susan’s final days were spent in the company of her loving family.
Susan was born July 2, 1966, in Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, the fourth of six children of Anthony “Bud” and Mary Lou (Barney) Meier. Her father preceded her in death. Susan graduated from Grosse Pointe North High School and later became a Certified Medical Assistant.
On June 12, 1999, Susan was united in marriage to a childhood friend, Dennis Richard Federoff in Grand Haven, Michigan, and they are blessed with two daughters, Natalie and Stephanie. The family remained several years in Michigan before following Dennis’s career with Bayer to Germany, Switzerland, and eventually settled in Kansas City in 2016. During their travels Susan particularly enjoyed meeting new people and making lasting relationships.
Susan was a lifelong Catholic and member of St. James parish in Liberty, Missouri. The priests and members of St. James have been a constant source of support and prayers during Susan’s illness.
Susan loved the water, especially any place with a beautiful beach and sunset. She also loved tulips! But her greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted wife and mom, always placing her family’s needs before her own.
Susan leaves her husband of 23+ years, Dennis; daughters, Natalie and Stephanie Federoff; mother, Mary Lou Meier; siblings, Lisa Kwatera (Kevin), Julie Meier, Patti Seventko (Mike), Anthony Meier (Toci) and Dan Meier (Jackie); as well as nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 6 pm, with the Rosary led by the Liberty Knights of Columbus and funeral service immediately following at 6 pm, on Tuesday, June 6, at St. James Catholic Church, 309 South Stewart Road, Liberty, Missouri 64068. Mass of Christian burial will be held at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in St. Clair Shores, Michigan, followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, Michigan.
