Thomas Milton Ewert, 73, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at Ignite Medical Resort in Kansas City, Missouri. There are no services planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials and contributions to the KC Pet Project.
Thomas was born on February 8, 1950 in Elgin, Illinois to Milton “Milt” George and Lois Arlene (Monroe) Ewert. He grew up in Elgin and graduated from Elgin High School in 1968. He attended Elgin Community College for drafting until he was drafted into the United States Army in 1971 and was an MP until 1973. He was married to Jeanette Duncan from 1973-1985 and they had two children together, Brian and Brandi. He was married to Clara Schoenfeld from 1999-2019. He worked for Harig Products International in Elgin, Illinois and for V & H Grading in Prescott, Arizona.
Thomas loved to go hunting with his father and uncles during his youth. In later years he enjoyed auto body repair, fishing, working on his truck, and his good dog Bodie.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sharon Lee Ewert. He is survived by his son, Brian Ewert and wife Julia; daughter, Brandi Ewert; grandchildren, Boston Ewert-Viol, Bailey Ewert, Brandon Ewert, and Bryson Jackson; step-grandchildren, Matthew Nuttall and Joshua Nuttall; step-great grandchildren, Maxen Claerhout-Nuttall and Alexandra Claerhout-Nuttall; brother, Gregory Ewert; and nephews, Drew Ewert and Michael Ewert.
