Timothy Scott Thurman, age 63, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. Born to Teresa and Bobbie Thurman on November 7, 1960 in Kansas City, Mo.,
Tim graduated from Hickman Mills High School in 1979. He completed ironworker apprenticeship and spent a long career at incredible heights, which suited his fearless attitude and unparalleled work ethic.
Tim was an avid outdoorsman with a particular fondness for fishing, hunting, kayaking/canoeing, camping and foraging for mushrooms. He was a lover of nature and animals. Tim had a knack for finding and collecting discarded treasures. He could often find beauty where others could not.
Tim was hardworking, generous, eccentric and never lost that “child-like” wonder which made him a fun-loving, unique father and grandfather. He lived his life with unrivaled passion, zeal and an excitement that could not be contained. His jovial spirit and boisterous laugh were heart-warming and infectious. One would be hard-pressed to find someone who didn’t like Tim. For those who knew him well, they knew if he was humming, he was happy. Though Tim had more than his fair share of “close calls”, nothing could’ve prepared his family and friends for this tragic loss and the gaping hole it leaves behind.
He is survived by his wife, Madeline Thurman, and 2 daughters, Kandis and Sam Thurman; 2 grandchildren, Thatcher and Willow; and 2 brothers, Chris and Bruce Thurman.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Teresa, sister, Denise, stepmother, Vicki, and father, Bobbie.
Tim was a one in a million kind of guy whose impact will be forever felt by his family and friends who loved him dearly.
