Obituary

Timothy James Smith, 68, passed away on May 7, 2026, in Liberty, Missouri, leaving behind a

legacy of kindness that touched everyone who crossed his path.

Born in Kansas City and raised in Lawson, Missouri, where he graduated with the class of 1976

from Lawson High School, Tim's life took him on a journey that included years in and around the

Austin, Texas area, before bringing him back to Missouri, where he spent his most recent years

in Liberty.

Tim was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought,

and mean it every time. Generosity wasn't something he practiced; it was simply who he was.

He moved through life with a quiet, steady goodness that left a mark on everyone he met.

That same character showed up every day in his work. Over a long and dedicated career as a

delivery driver, Tim was known for his reliability and work ethic, logging miles for companies

including Major Brands, Aaron's Rent to Own, and Coca-Cola. He took pride in doing his job

well and showing up, day after day, year after year, with a grit that doesn't ask for recognition

and doesn't quit.

In retirement, Tim embraced the simple pleasures he had always loved. He was a Kansas City

fan through and through, loyal to the Chiefs and Royals in good seasons and bad. NASCAR

and golf filled many an afternoon, and when the opportunity arose for a fishing trip, he treasured

every moment of it. But nothing meant more to him than his family, and especially the steadfast

love and care he gave his son Brandon. Looking after Brandon was a privilege Tim embraced

with his whole heart.

Timothy is survived by his beloved fiancée Jeannette Tricarico; his daughter Brittany Smith; his

son Brandon Smith; his sister Pandora Jones; and his brother Vernon Smith. He was preceded

in death by his parents, Evelyn and Vernon Smith, and his sister Lora Smith.

Tim lived with an authentic, quiet strength, always putting others first. He just needed to know

the people he loved were taken care of. And maybe that the Chiefs had a winning season.
