Roger Conrad Whitney

Roger Conrad Whitney, 70, of the Kansas City Northland and a native of Omaha, passed away July 18, 2019 at his home in Kansas City, MO. He was born September 15, 1948, in Omaha, Nebraska, the only child of Roger Z. and Margaret A. (Hoschar) Whitney.

Roger graduated from Omaha South High School (’66) and received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Nebraska at Omaha, where he was a member of Delta Sigma Pi fraternity. His career in accounting and management began at Arthur Andersen and later for many years at Mutual of Omaha before he retired. Along with a passion for his career, Roger loved traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, and was a lifelong Huskers fan.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Diane (Struthers) Whitney, in 1974.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Nickolas Ruffcorn, and granddaughters, Whitney and Danielle of Kansas City, MO. He also leaves his former wife, Nancy Rowher.

Private graveside services will be held at a later date at Evergreen Memorial Park in Omaha.

A Life Celebration Pot Luck gathering will be held at Hansom Park Pavilion 3201 Woolworth Ave. Omaha Nebraska 68105 on Saturday Aug. 17th from 12:00pm to 3:00pm. Open house, pot luck format, feel free to come and go as you please. Sliced meat and Roger's favorite Smoke House baked beans will be provided.
