Wilda E. Louis

September 25, 1950 — October 26, 2023

Grandview, Missouri

Wilda Louis, 73, of Grandview MO, fell asleep in death on Thursday, October 26, 2023, at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City’s Country Club Plaza. She was born on September 25, 1950, in Kansas City MO to Will and Leona Williams. She was the oldest of four children. Wilda was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Wilda received her early education from Greenwood Elementary, Central Middle School, Loretta Academy, and she graduated High School from Southeast in 1968. She met and fell in love with David Louis, and on May 2, 1970, they were married. To this union four children were born: Erika, Leslie, Lauren, and David Z. After having children, Wilda went back to school and graduated from the Penn Valley Community College nursing program in December of 1987. She worked at various hospitals as an RN for the next 15 years until a health condition disabled her from working.

Wilda dedicated her life as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on April 4th, 1973. Along with her husband, she worked hard to instill the truth in her children. She was very proud to have all her children serving Jehovah.  She often worked in the first aid department at the assemblies and conventions and loved being around the friends.

Wilda enjoyed attending concerts, theatrical plays, and musicals. She had many interests including learning about Black and Native American history. She also enjoyed shopping for herself and others, especially her grandchildren. She was a sharp dresser and could often be found wearing a hat to accentuate her outfit. She loved to talk about anything and everything and didn't mind sharing her opinion. Wilda was not only a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, she was also a caregiver. She took good care of both her parents until their death. She
did the same for her husband.

Wilda leaves to cherish her memory, her four children, Erika E. Daniels (Quentin), Leslie M. Perry (Clinton), Lauren A. Burt (Kacy), and David Z. Louis (Miranda); one sister, Angel D. Clark; two brothers, Michael E. Williams (Tawanda), Stephen E. Diamond Sr; nine grandchildren, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
