William R. Myres

January 21, 1948- September 7, 2024

Our beloved Husband, Dad, and Grandpa passed away peacefully September 7th, 2024, surrounded by his family, at the age of 76.

Bill Myres was born January 21, 1948 in Kansas City, MO to Kenneth and Erma Myres. He was a resident of Independence, MO since 1975. Bill graduated from Ruskin High School and then enrolled in Wentworth Military Academy. In 1968 Bill joined the United States Marine Corp. After completing 3 years in the Marines he was set up on a blind date by one of his good friends Alan. On that blind date, Bill found the love of his life, Pam. They were married 9 months later on June 10, 1972. They just recently celebrated 53 years together.

Bill worked as a milkman, Butternut Bread then Wonder Bread for 36 years. After retirement Bill watched his two  grandsons Blake and Brady. Once the boys started school, Bill started his 3rd career at Harrah's Casino as a security guard. He worked at Harrah's for 19 years. Bill knew no stranger. He would stop a total stranger on the street to tell them a joke. He brought a smile to everyone he came in contact with.

Bill is survived by his wife Pam Myres, daughters Sarah Haupt (Brian and Pucci Dog), Rebecca Myres (Jacquie) and two grandsons Blake and Brady (Doggies Jordan, Curry and Hunter). He is preceded in death by his parents Kenneth and Erma Myres. At the request of the family this will be a private funeral.
