Wilma Jean Taylor

Wilma Jean Taylor, age 89, of Kansas City, Missouri joined her Lord and Savior on November 4, 2024. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am, followed by a service remembering Jean’s life at 11:00 am, on Thursday, November 7, at Park Lawn Northland Chapel, 1640 State Route 291 in Liberty, Missouri. A graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm at Ridgely Cemetery near Edgerton, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, where Jean attended the past 24 years. 

Jean was born January 21,1935 in Buhl, Idaho to William Otto and Della Maryann (Parsons) Plaster. Along with her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband and love of her life, Robert Taylor, of 62 years; her youngest daughter Terrie Taylor; four brothers Harold Plaster, Cleon Plaster, Johnny Plaster, Dwight Plaster; four sisters Gelene Gilliam, Ava Mae Brisco, Ida Lou Plaster, and Joyce Faye Plaster. 

She leaves behind her loving daughters Carrie "Libby" Buchmann (Eric) and Mary Ann Smith (Rev. Mark); sisters Minnie Dowsey, Margaret Holden, Mollie Riley; brother Jerry Plaster; grandchildren Tara Spry, Matthew Rumans, Tony Rumans, Justin Smith (Katrina), Rev. Joshua Taylor Smith (Susan), Jordan Smith, Alayna Hollaway (Tyler), Claire Varnell (Ben), Jonah Buchmann; great grandchildren Olivia, Brooks, Jake, Sophia, Cooper, Towner, Emma, Bryson; great great grandson Maverick and great great granddaughter due in December. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins, other family members and friends. Jean was a devoted Christian and loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed cross stitching, quilting, reading and telling stories. She especially loved time with all of her grandchildren of three generations. She will be greatly missed by all including her nap buddy, Samson and close family friend Sue Palm.

A special thanks to Dr. Soundarraj, Dr. Moragas, Dr. Ferrero, Dr. Lau and the numerous staff and nurses at Liberty Hospital who cared for mom.
