About Park Lawn Funeral Homes in Kansas City and Liberty, MO

Memorial Park Cemetery, located along Hillcrest Road between 78th and 81st Streets, was established in 1922 by Bernard DeVry with a vision unlike any other. He transformed his family's farm into a beautiful memorial park where every burial would be commemorated with a flat marker, preserving the natural beauty of the landscape and creating a peaceful, park-like setting for remembrance.

Today, Memorial Park spans 380 acres of rolling hills, tranquil lakes and ponds, marble statuary, vibrant gardens, and thousands of mature trees. More than a century later, Bernard DeVry's vision continues to provide families with one of Kansas City's most beautiful and serene places to honor, remember, and celebrate the lives of those they love.

In 1964, H.W. “Bill” DeVry, Jr. acquired the adjoining Green Lawn Cemetery at 81st and Hillcrest. Later that year, Park Lawn Funeral Home was established at the corner of 83rd and Hillcrest. Operating under family ownership and management, Park Lawn Funeral Home is now one of the largest funeral and cemetery complexes serving the entire metropolitan area. The DeVry Family maintained the traditions founded by their great-grandfather while remaining mindful in their competitive marketplace. Today, Park Lawn offers beautiful facilities, a caring and responsive staff, and competitive pricing while enjoying the integrity the DeVry Family held steadfast for four generations.

In 2022, Henry “Hank” DeVry, joined Park Lawn Corporation, a privately held organization, with local leadership and staff who continue to honor the DeVry family legacy. The Park Lawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park Cemetery staff are experts in Funeral, Cremation and Burial Events. They are committed to facilitating moments that lend to the healing of grief and celebrating life with the highest standards in quality, caring and sensitive service at the best value to each family it serves before, during and after death.
